About Us
Infection Control Association of South Australia (ICASA)

The Infection Control Association of South Australia (ICASA) was founded in the early 80s with a membership primarily of nurses with a common interest in infection prevention and control.

ICASA membership numbers have grown over the years to include now people from varying industries around South Australia, Australia and other countries.

A diverse range of people and industries are welcome to apply for membership benefits, including health and aged care facilities; food preparation firms; education facilities; tourism operators ... in fact, any business or organisation with a passion for protecting their clients, customers, patients and staff by applying strong hygiene and infection control practices.

ICASA's Executive Committee has a vision to be respected as a 'proactive, dynamic, peak professional body that achieves excellence in infection prevention and control through its diverse members'.

To achieve this goal, ICASA partners with

  • other associations and organisations
  • hospital and community staff
  • industry collaborators / manufacturers
  • government agencies

ICASA Executive Committee meetings (usually 1.5 to 2 hours in duration) are held monthly in the Adelaide City or via teleconference. Committee members have all been voted into their positions and undertake the work of the association in a voluntary capacity.

Outside of these meetings, below are some of the activities members are involved in:
