• Don't infect another

  By making Wash, Wipe, Cover a habit, you will reduce the risk of getting sick or passing infections on to others. Especially after visiting places with lots of people such as:

  1. Child care & Schools
  2. Public Transport
  3. Shopping centres
  4. Hospitals & doctor Surgeries

• Hands spread 80% of common infectious diseases

  1. Wet hands with running water
  2. Add soap
  3. Rub soap over all areas of hands
  4. Don’t miss between fingers, thumbs & back of hands
  5. Rub for at least 10 seconds (the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday to yourself)
  6. Rinse hands well
  7. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel

• Some germs can live for several days on surfaces.

  Wipe Shared Equipment Regularly

  1. Telephones
  2. Computer keyboards
  3. Door handles
  4. Tapware etc
  5. Stethescopes, BP cuffs, etc

  Clean Food Preparation Surfaces Thoroughly

  1. Clean damp cloth
  2. Use detergent

• Stop the Airbourne Spread of Infections

  1. Turn Your Head Away from Others
  2. Cover mouth & nose with a Tissue (then throw in bin)
  3. Cough / sneeze into your arm

• 

• Alcohol gel should be used if soap and water isn’t available

  1. Squirt/ pump into your cupped hand
  2. Rub gel into front and back of hands
  3. Rub gel between fingers
  4. Keep rubbing until hands feel dry

  Note: Alcohol Gels will not be effective on heavily soiled hands.
